The archery deer season is more than two weeks old, and if I had to pick one word to describe it so far, it would be miserable.

Oh, it's not that there aren't any deer around. There are plenty. And it's not that I don't have any decent places to hunt. I have several.

The problem is that I've spent the majority of my treestand time sweating and swatting mosquitoes off my face. There are good reasons we don't go deer hunting in August, and heat and humidity top the list.
